Uros Predic's Studio

Uros Predic's Studio is a building on Svetogorska Street 27 with distinctive Art Nouveau features and elements of Vienna Secession design. The elongated floor plan and open side facades display the architectural principles developed in early 1900s Belgrade.

The building was constructed in 1908 for merchant Josif Predic and later became home to his brother Uros Predic, a Serbian Realist painter. He lived and worked there from 1909 until his death in 1953, creating numerous significant paintings within its walls.

The studio served as a working space for an important Serbian painter and reflects the artistic traditions of early 20th century Belgrade. Artists and art followers recognized this location as central to the development of realistic painting practices in Serbia.

The location sits in the Old Town district of Stari Grad surrounded by other historical structures, making the area worthwhile to explore. The exterior of the building is clearly visible from the street, allowing visitors to appreciate the architecture without special access.

The building is known locally as a 'bonboniere' due to its pink facade, a nickname that playfully describes its sweet appearance. It remains the oldest surviving artist's workshop building in Belgrade today, drawing attention as a relic from a vanished artistic era.
