Museum of Chocolate, Chocolate museum in Pokrov, Russia
The Museum of Chocolate in Pokrov displays the full chocolate-making journey from raw cocoa beans to finished products through various exhibits and live demonstrations. Visitors can observe each stage of production and understand how the confectionery is crafted from start to finish.
The museum was established after 2004 when the Stollwerck chocolate factory in the city came under Kraft Foods ownership. This marked the beginning of a strong chocolate manufacturing presence that continues to shape the town's identity today.
The Monument to Chocolate nearby shows a figure wearing a tall hat with a chest designed in the shape of chocolate bar squares. Sculptor Ilya Shanin created this piece, and it reflects the town's connection to chocolate manufacturing.
The museum offers hands-on workshops where visitors can make chocolate themselves, along with tasting sessions of various types. The adjacent Shokoladnitsa café provides a place to purchase and enjoy chocolate products before or after your visit.
The museum earned regional tourism recognition in 2003 from the Vladimir Region's Government, marking an early acknowledgment of its importance to local tourism. This award was presented before the facility officially opened to the public.
