The park spans between Staraya Basmannaya and Novaya Basmannaya streets, featuring walking paths, outdoor sports facilities, and recreational areas for visitors.
In 1920, the park emerged from merging the Golitsyn estate garden with surrounding manor grounds and received its name after revolutionary Nikolai Bauman.
The garden hosts numerous theater performances, concerts, and exhibitions throughout the year, with a dedicated outdoor stage for public entertainment events.
The park contains children's playgrounds, exercise equipment, bicycle rentals, and a winter ice skating rink that operates during cold months.
A decorative grotto from the 18th century remains on the grounds as a federal architectural monument, complemented by a basilisk fountain gifted by Basel.
