Bauman garden

Bauman garden is a public park in Moscow situated between Staraya Basmannaya and Novaya Basmannaya streets, providing different areas for various activities. Visitors find walking paths, sports facilities, children's play areas, and exercise equipment throughout the grounds.

The park was established in 1920 by combining the Golitsyn estate garden with surrounding properties and was named after revolutionary Nikolai Bauman. This merging of private historical land into public space marked a significant change in how the area was used after the revolution.

The space serves as a gathering place where locals meet for walks and social occasions throughout the year. The regular performances and public events held here shape how the neighborhood experiences entertainment and community life together.

The park is easy to navigate on foot and equipped with various facilities including an ice skating rink during winter months. Visitors should be prepared for different weather conditions and can rent bicycles to explore the grounds.

A decorative grotto from the 18th century stands on the grounds as a federally protected architectural monument, showing the long building history of the place. It is complemented by a fountain with basilisk sculptures, a gift from the city of Basel, creating an unusual international connection to the park.
