Симеоно-Верхотурский храм

The Simeon Verkhotursky Church occupies a hilltop location in the Northern Settlement district with distinctive black domes and wooden exterior cladding. The structure serves as a religious center for the surrounding community with an interior designed for regular worship and prayer.

Construction of the church began in 1902 to serve the growing population in the Northern Settlement district. The project arose when the existing Nicholas Railway Station Church could no longer accommodate all the believers in the area.

The church draws people seeking spiritual guidance through veneration of Saint Simeon Verkhotursky, whose image is central to worship here. Local believers visit to light candles and pray before the sacred icons displayed throughout the interior.

The building sits on a hill, so comfortable shoes are recommended for the climb up to the entrance. Keep in mind that this is an active place of worship, so visitors should respect the religious atmosphere and customs of those praying.

During renovation work between 1991 and 1994, an original fresco of Christ's Resurrection was found on the northern wall and carefully preserved. This historical artwork remains visible inside the church as a testament to its earlier artistic heritage.
