Храм Богоявления Господня, Russian Orthodox church in Kozelsk, Russia
The Epiphany Church in Kozelsk is an Orthodox religious complex featuring five domes and a bell tower rising to approximately 39 meters, built in Russian-Byzantine style. The facility can hold around 400 worshippers during services.
Construction of the Epiphany Church began in 2005 under Metropolitan Clement of Kaluga and Borovsk, guided by designs inspired by architect Konstantin Ton. Development of the complex continued through subsequent years as sections were progressively completed.
The church spreads across two levels: the upper section honors the Epiphany, while the lower section serves as a chapel for the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. This design allows worshippers to experience different sacred spaces within the same building.
The church is open during prayer times, and visitors should wear modest clothing and maintain quiet during services when worshippers are present. The complex also includes a Sunday school for children, offering insight into community religious life.
The lower church began holding regular liturgical services in 2007, even as construction continued on the upper level for several more years. This phased approach allowed the community to worship while the overall project remained incomplete.
