Galperin Revenue House, Moscow

The Galperin Revenue House is a residential and commercial building designed in the Art Nouveau style with an elaborately crafted facade filled with flowing forms and decorative details. The structure has multiple stories, with the ground floor intended for shops and the upper levels designed for residential apartments.

Architect Fyodor Schechtel completed this building in 1909 during a time of rapid growth in Moscow's business and residential districts. This expansion was part of a larger transformation of the city under the influence of modern European ideas.

The building shows how wealthy merchants in Moscow around 1900 lived and worked, with homes upstairs and shops below. The blend of European and Russian style elements reflects how the city looked outward and reinvented itself during this period.

The building stands on Pyatnitskaya Street in an easily accessible residential area mixed with other historic structures. Visitors can view the exterior facade at any time and explore the neighborhood on foot.
