Repin House

Repin House is a single-story wooden building in Tolyatti that displays traditional 19th-century Russian architecture, complete with iron window grilles and a corrugated metal roof. The structure has been maintained in its original form and is protected as a regional cultural heritage site.

The building became a memorial in 1947 when residents set up a tribute space with the painter's portrait in one section. This early recognition marked the start of the house's formal status as a historical site.

The house connects the town to painter Ilya Repin, who stayed here in 1870 and drew ideas from his surroundings. The space holds meaning for local residents as a reminder of the artist's presence and creative process.

The house is located on Repin Street and is easy to find while exploring the neighborhood's older buildings. The original exterior remains protected and visible from the street, making it straightforward to view and photograph from outside.

The building was relocated during the city's development, moved away from its original location. This relocation shows how historical structures had to be adapted during modern urban expansion.
