Kingisepp former Commerce School

The stone structure combines Gothic Revival and Art Nouveau architectural elements with high ceilings, large windows, and ornate exterior decorations throughout its facade.

Built in 1909 during the Russian Empire period, this educational institution prepared students for commerce careers until its transformation into a local museum.

The building preserves educational heritage through exhibits about local history, including memorabilia of A.A. Ivanov, who studied there before becoming a war hero.

Located at Karl Marx Avenue, House 1, the former Commerce School now functions as a public museum displaying regional artifacts and historical collections.

The structure forms part of the Yam Fortress complex, integrating educational architecture with medieval defensive fortifications near the Luga River.
