Здание Тимирязевской академии, Agricultural academy building in Timiryazevsky District, Russia.
The Timiryazev Academy building is a three-story Neo-Baroque structure in Moscow. The main building features two distinct facades and a prominent clock tower topped with a gilded figure, while its arched windows showcase Finnish convex glass.
Built in 1865, the building was designed by architects Nikolai Benois and Pietro Campioni as part of the Petrovsko-Razumovskoe estate. It became one of the earliest dedicated facilities for agricultural science education in Russia.
The institution prepares agricultural specialists and conducts scientific research in agronomy, veterinary medicine, biochemistry, and environmental sciences.
The complex is located on spacious grounds containing numerous additional structures, several designated as protected cultural heritage sites. The area is easily accessible on foot and invites exploration of the surrounding architecture and landscape.
The building's dome is crowned with a lightning rod decorated by a gilded figure of Glory that stands as a symbol of the institution. This ornamental feature can be seen from many vantage points across the campus.
