Владимирская церковь, Orthodox church in Ivanovo, Russia
The Vladimir Church is an Orthodox church in Ivanovo built with five domes and red brick exterior in Russian Revival style. The structure features interior spaces organized with traditional Orthodox elements arranged throughout.
Construction began in 1902 under architect Petr Gustavovich Begen and the church received consecration in 1904. Local merchants and industrialists funded the project, reflecting the city's economic growth during that period.
The interior contains a multi-tiered iconostasis and several side chapels that create distinct prayer spaces. These elements follow traditional Orthodox design principles that visitors can still observe today.
The building reopened for worship in 1993 after major restoration work that reconstructed all five original domes. Visitors should dress and behave respectfully when entering an active place of worship.
From 1901 to 1916, the church complex housed the Alexeevskaya almshouse for elderly women in need. This shows how the religious institution served its community beyond worship.
