Gerasimov House, Michurinsk

The Gerasimov House is a two-story brick building in Michurinsk with original architectural details from the late 19th century. The site includes the main residence, a studio space in the outbuilding, a barn, and a terrace.

The house was built in 1886 and became the home and workplace of artist Alexander Gerasimov. The property remained connected to artistic work even after 1917 when Russia underwent major political change.

The house displays family belongings, furniture, and photographs that offer insight into how a Russian artist lived in the 20th century. The rooms give you a direct sense of the daily world and creative practice of that time.

The site is accessible by walking through the neighborhood and buildings are visible from the street. Guided tours take visitors through all parts of the complex including interior rooms, courtyard spaces, and outdoor areas.

The artist's studio from 1930 preserves his original equipment and workspace arrangement exactly as he left it. Visitors can see how he organized his brushes and paints, offering a rare glimpse into a painter's working method.
