Памятник В. И. Ленину

The Lenin Monument in Vladikavkaz is a bronze sculpture mounted on a black granite base positioned in the center of the city's main square. The figure overlooks surrounding streets and buildings in a typical Soviet monumental style.

The monument was erected in 1957 by sculptor Zair Azgur and architect G. A. Zakharov, replacing an earlier version that had stood at the site. It was created to honor the Soviet Revolution and its ideological significance for the region.

The site remains linked to Soviet history and stands near the Vakhtangov Theater and historic civic buildings. Today this central location serves as a natural gathering point where the region's political heritage stays visible to daily visitors.

The monument sits on a central plaza with good public transit connections and is easily reached on foot. The plaza is open to the public and can be visited at any time without requiring special arrangements.

The monument has survived significant events in its history, including an attack in 1993 that caused damage to parts of the sculpture. Restoration work was carefully carried out to preserve the original appearance.
