Торговый дом Оганова, Museum building at Prospect Mira, Vladikavkaz, Russia.
The Oganov Trading House is a two-story brick structure with geometric parquet patterns and decorated windows topped by zodiac symbols above the columns. The facade displays elaborate ornamentation with various decorative elements that complement the interior spaces.
Merchant Bogdan Oganov commissioned architect Ivan Ryabikin to build this structure in 1903, combining retail spaces on the ground floor with residential areas above. This original mixed-use function was later transformed to serve as a museum.
The building has housed an art museum since 1939 and reflects the diverse design tastes of the Art Nouveau period. Visitors can observe today how different architectural styles blend together throughout the structure.
The interior spaces feature high ceilings of varying heights on different floors, creating generous exhibition areas. The building's layout allows visitors to move comfortably through its various sections during a visit.
The interior walls display paintings in the Pompeian style, echoing ancient Roman artistic techniques. This rare decoration gives the building a touch of classical elegance from another era.
