Forsviks bruk, Industrial heritage site in Forsvik, Sweden
Forsviks bruk is an industrial complex in Sweden with preserved workshops, foundries, and mills from multiple centuries. The buildings are spread across the site and offer exhibitions about craftsmanship and metal production.
The site began over 600 years ago as the first workshop industry in the Skaraborg region. It grew into a major center for metal and wood processing that shaped regional trade and production.
The metallurgy displays show how Swedish craftspeople developed metal-making techniques over centuries. Visitors can observe how work methods changed from medieval times to the present day.
The site welcomes visitors during summer months, with group visits available by arrangement. Comfortable shoes are recommended since you walk between buildings and terrain can be uneven in places.
The site contains the shipyard where the paddle steamer Eric Nordevall II was built, now operating on the Gota Canal. This restored vessel is one of Sweden's finest examples of historic shipbuilding craftsmanship.
