Wiang Kosai National Park, National park in northern Thailand
Wiang Kosai National Park is a protected area spanning the provinces of Phrae and Lampang, covering mountains, deep rainforests, and mixed deciduous forests. The grounds offer hiking trails through different forest types as well as multiple waterfalls and natural hot springs.
The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation established this protected area in 1981 to preserve the local ecosystems. This founding marked the start of organized management and protection for this natural region.
Local communities around the park boundaries keep traditional ways of living visible to visitors while working together to protect native species. The area remains a place where people and nature coexist through conservation practices.
The park offers overnight options in cabins and designated camping areas with varying levels of comfort. Visitors should bring sturdy shoes and prepare for hiking, as trails lead through mountainous terrain and forest.
Three waterfalls named Mae Sin, Mae Jok, and Mae Pak cascade down in multiple stages and create striking natural scenes. Natural hot springs near Mae Jok release steam through cracks in the ground, adding another geological feature to explore.
