Nam Tok Yong National Park, National park in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand
Nam Tok Yong is a national park in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province that spreads across the Nakhon Si Thammarat Range with multiple waterfalls throughout its terrain. An elevated boardwalk at about 1000 meters elevation lets visitors explore the summit area and view the surrounding mountain landscape.
The Thai government established this area as a protected reserve in 1991 to safeguard the natural resources and water systems of this mountain region. This decision recognized the importance of preserving the local ecosystems.
Local communities have long-standing ties to this forested area and use traditional knowledge about healing plants and animals that live here. People from nearby villages view this place as part of their natural surroundings and their own history.
The park is accessible by car from Thung Song town and has various entry points for visitors. The elevation changes and forested trails require sturdy footwear and some physical preparation.
A 1.3 kilometer circular trail on Khao Ramrome summit takes visitors through mountain terrain where clear days offer wide views. The path is fully paved, which is unusual for summit trails in this region.
