Phu Thap Boek

Phu Thap Boek is a mountain peak in north-central Thailand that rises above the surrounding plains. Its slopes are covered with cabbage fields and evergreen forests that shape the landscape.

The region once focused on opium cultivation but was later transformed into farmland under government programs. This shift happened in the late 1900s as part of rural development efforts.

Hmong hill tribes have made their home here and maintain their traditional way of living through farming. Visitors can see their villages and learn how they cultivate crops across the slopes.

The coolest months for hiking are December and January when pleasant conditions make exploration easier. Several camping grounds and resorts near the summit offer overnight accommodation for visitors.

The mountain serves as a collection point for Nam Fa Klang Hao, water used in royal Thai ceremonies. This role gives the location special significance in local beliefs.
