Wat Song Sawoei, Buddhist temple in Nong Noi, Thailand

Wat Song Sawoei stands on the banks of the Tha Chin River in Chainat Province and contains several shrines scattered across its grounds. The main prayer hall, called the Ubosot, holds a sacred Buddha statue inside and serves as the spiritual center of the complex.

The temple's roots go back to the Ayutthaya period, when Buddhism was spreading throughout the region. After falling into disrepair, a monk named Luang Pu Kloi led efforts to restore it to active use.

The temple serves as a center for Buddhist practice and devotion, with the red lanterns throughout the grounds marking its spiritual purpose. Daily prayers and meditation occur here, reflecting the role of this place in the spiritual life of the surrounding community.

Plan to visit during daylight hours when the temple is most welcoming and the grounds are fully visible. Respect local customs by removing shoes in sacred areas and dressing modestly to honor the spiritual space.

The main Buddha statue was installed in the principal building over 100 years ago and has remained there ever since. This continuity across generations makes the statue a meaningful anchor point for both pilgrims and local residents.
