Gaziantep Zoo

Gaziantep Zoo is a facility with enclosures for over 300 animal species, from lions to elephants and local wildlife of the region. The grounds are organized with separate areas for different animal groups, making it easy for visitors to navigate.

The facility opened in 2001 and became an important step for wildlife protection and environmental education in Turkey. Its establishment helped raise awareness about preserving local animal species in the region.

Many visitors don't know that the zoo has special heated enclosures for heat-loving species from the region. These particular areas show how desert and steppe animals adapt to extreme climate conditions.
