Charlestown, Georgian port village in St. Austell Bay, Cornwall, England

The harbor features tall ships anchored in a Grade II listed port with period buildings and traditional fishermen's cottages along the waterfront.

Charles Rashleigh constructed the port between 1791 and 1801, transforming the small fishing settlement of West Polmear into a commercial harbor for copper and coal trade.

The Shipwreck, Rescue and Heritage Centre exhibits maritime artifacts from over 150 shipwrecks and displays scenes from historical village life.

The harbor area contains several restaurants, cafes, gift shops, and accommodations, with parking facilities available near the waterfront.

The port maintains a fleet of square-rigged tall ships and serves as a filming location for television series and movies, including Poldark and Hornblower.
