Heron Tower, Commercial skyscraper in City of London, England.
Heron Tower is a skyscraper built from steel, glass, and stainless steel in City of London, England, reaching 46 floors and a height of 230 meters (755 feet). The address is 110 Bishopsgate, and the building follows the principles of modern architecture with continuous glass surfaces on the exterior.
The project received approval in 2006 after discussions about possible effects on the view toward St Paul's Cathedral. Completion occurred in March 2011, and since then it has served as an office building in the financial district.
A large aquarium sits in the entrance hall and catches the attention of visitors as they step inside, giving the space a memorable character. On the upper floors, restaurants combine dishes from several countries, offering an international menu.
Two glass elevators take visitors to SUSHISAMBA restaurant on the 38th floor, and during the ride upward there is a view across the city. Access to the building is through the main entrance on Bishopsgate, where the reception is also located.
The office spaces are arranged in villages grouped around atriums with triple-height ceilings, and this structure allows daylight to reach deep inside. This layout creates open zones where employees from different floors can meet one another.
