Lydden Hill Race Circuit, Racing circuit in Kent, England

The one-mile Lydden Hill Race Circuit combines tarmac and gravel sections, featuring a challenging layout between Canterbury and Dover.

Bill Chesson established the circuit in 1955, initially promoting stock-car racing before adding a tarmac track for road racing in 1962.

The circuit created rallycross history in 1967 when Vic Elford won the first-ever race of this format in a Porsche 911.

Located midway between Canterbury and Dover, the circuit hosts regular motorsport events including rallycross, drifting, and motorcycle competitions.

Formula 1 champion James Hunt secured his first racing victory at Lydden Hill in 1968 while driving a Russell-Alexis Mk14 Formula Ford.
