Marazion, Coastal town in Cornwall, England
Marazion sits on Mount's Bay's shore, with St Michael's Mount standing half a mile offshore, connected by a causeway during low tide.
The town received its first charter of incorporation from Henry III in 1257, making it among the earliest chartered settlements in the United Kingdom.
The name originates from the Cornish words 'marghas' for market and 'byghan' for small, reflecting its medieval function as a commercial center.
The settlement maintains essential services including a post office, restaurants, art galleries, and direct access to the coastal path network.
Marazion Marsh, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, provides habitat for numerous bird species including rare Crakes and Warblers.
