Walton Heath Golf Club is a golf facility in Surrey with two 18-hole courses set among heathland. The Old Course stretches to about 7,400 yards (6,770 meters) and the New Course to about 7,200 yards (6,585 meters).
The club was founded in 1903 and engaged James Braid as its professional from 1904 to 1950. During those years, Braid won five British Open Championships.
The golf club has attracted numerous political figures throughout its history, including Winston Churchill and four British Prime Ministers who held memberships.
The course is open seven days a week and can be played with advance booking. Visitors should know that a public road must be crossed between sections of the course.
After playing the first hole, a par 3 of around 200 yards (185 meters), golfers must cross a public road to reach the remaining 17 holes. This unusual layout creates a distinctive experience during play.
