Aberdour Castle, Medieval castle in Fife, Scotland.

The castle complex contains a central tower house, multiple ranges of buildings, terraced gardens, and a walled garden overlooking the Firth of Forth.

The original hall house, constructed around 1200, makes Aberdour Castle one of the two oldest standing stone castles in Scotland.

The Douglas Earls of Morton expanded the castle over centuries, transforming it from a basic hall house into an ornate residence with Renaissance details.

The castle opens daily from April to September between 10 am and 4:30 pm, with different hours during winter months and lunch closures.

The east range contains a painted ceiling from the early 17th century, representing a notable example of Scottish Renaissance interior decoration.
