Stock Exchange Tower is a commercial skyscraper in the City of London featuring 26 floors with extensive windows that allow natural light to fill the interior spaces. The building rises approximately 100 meters and contains hundreds of workstations distributed across its levels.
The building opened in 1972 when Queen Elizabeth II inaugurated it, serving as the headquarters of the London Stock Exchange for decades. Its role as the main trading venue ended in 2004 when operations moved to Paternoster Square.
The transition from face-to-face trading to electronic systems in 1986 marked a significant change in British financial practices at the Stock Exchange Tower.
The building sits directly next to Bank underground station with several other transport options nearby, making it easy to reach. Wide entrances and modern elevators provide smooth access to the different levels throughout the structure.
The building underwent a major renovation in the 1990s that replaced its original concrete façade with a sleek glass curtain wall. This transformation not only refreshed the tower's appearance but also expanded its usable floor space beyond the original design.
