Bradford Cathedral, Anglican cathedral in Bradford, England
Bradford Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Bradford featuring Gothic architecture with intricate stone carving throughout. The building contains medieval stained glass windows and a perpendicular tower that was completed in 1508.
Construction of this cathedral began in 1400 and it stands as the third church on this site. Major extensions designed by architect Sir Edward Maufe were added in the 1960s, significantly expanding the structure.
The cathedral displays textiles by Morris & Co and holds memorials to local events, including the Bradford City Fire of 1985. The space serves the community today as a place for worship and gathering.
The building offers level access throughout its main areas and provides accessible facilities for all visitors. Secure bicycle storage is available for those arriving by bike.
This cathedral is one of three co-equal cathedrals in the Diocese of Leeds, alongside Ripon and Wakefield cathedrals. This arrangement makes it an important hub within the regional Anglican structure.
