Burnham-on-Crouch is a civil parish and town near Maldon in England. It sits along the Crouch estuary and includes residential neighborhoods as well as a waterfront district with sailing boats and mooring facilities.
It began as a fishing village at the estuary mouth and gradually grew into an established port community. Its development has been closely tied to maritime activity and later to recreational sailing.
It is best explored on foot, as main areas are close together and the waterfront is easily accessible. Wear comfortable shoes, as ground near the water can be uneven in places.
