St Mary's Cathedral, Anglican cathedral in West End, Edinburgh, Scotland
The cathedral exhibits Victorian Gothic architecture with three tall spires that define the western section of Edinburgh's architectural landscape.
The Duke of Buccleuch laid the foundation stone in 1874, and the cathedral opened in 1879 under the design of architect George Gilbert Scott.
The cathedral maintains daily choral services with a full choir, becoming the first Scottish Episcopal cathedral to include female singers in 1978.
Located at Palmerston Place near Haymarket station, the cathedral holds multiple services each day, including morning prayer, communion, and evening ceremonies.
The Song School within the cathedral contains wall murals painted by Phoebe Anna Traquair, depicting scenes from sacred and secular literature.
