Alexander Stadium is an athletics venue in Perry Barr, Birmingham, built to accommodate 18,000 spectators across four grandstands. The facility features a nine-lane international-standard track with a separate warm-up track and dedicated throwing areas.
The stadium opened in 1976 and underwent major renovation in 2022 to host the Commonwealth Games. This modernization transformed the facility into a contemporary sports venue.
The stadium serves local runners and jumpers from the Birchfield Harriers club, who train here regularly and compete in events throughout the year. It has become a place where people come to watch national athletics competitions and see talented athletes perform.
The venue is easy to navigate on foot with clear access points for visitors. Spectators can view the track from multiple seating areas with good sightlines throughout the grounds.
