Description
Kirkdale Cave is a limestone cave in North Yorkshire that extends 436 meters deep and features two main passages connecting from the entrance. The cave displays layered geological deposits that accumulated over hundreds of thousands of years.

Workers discovered the cave in 1821 while quarrying limestone in the area and found numerous bones of long-extinct animals inside. This discovery helped scientists understand the ice ages and the creatures that once lived in England.
