Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, Country park and nature reserve near Penarth, Wales.
The park contains two major lakes formed from former quarries, surrounded by 100 hectares of meadows, woodlands, and grasslands.
The area transformed from a limestone quarry that produced 175,000 tons of cement in 1962 to a public recreational space in 1978.
Environmental education sessions take place throughout the year, teaching visitors about local wildlife through ranger-led programs and activities.
Season tickets for regular visits cost £35 for six months or £55 for twelve months, granting access to both Cosmeston and Porthkerry parks.
Parts of the park hold Site of Special Scientific Interest status, protecting rare plant species and providing habitats for diverse waterfowl populations.
