The Assembly Hall Theatre features a grand auditorium with 672 seats on the ground floor and 320 seats in the balcony section.
The theatre, designed by Percy Thomas and Ernest Prestwich, opened its doors in May 1939 and served as an entertainment venue for troops during World War II.
The theatre presents an annual calendar of performances including orchestral concerts, comedy shows, theatrical productions, dance events, and traditional winter pantomimes.
The venue underwent a substantial renovation in 2015, receiving new tiered seating, improved air conditioning systems, and modernized payment facilities at the bar.
The entrance hall displays Roman Travertine Marble walls and floors, complemented by gold and fawn ceiling decorations that reflect the building's architectural heritage.
