Alyn Waters

Alyn Waters is a country park spanning two separate areas divided by the River Alyn, with wooded sections, open grasslands, and paths along the water. The terrain allows for different types of walks depending on your interests and energy level.

The site was once home to Gwersyllt Hall, which was demolished in 1910 as mining operations expanded in the area. The land later served as a quarry before being converted into a public park in 1989.

The Friends of Alyn Waters group meets monthly to coordinate conservation efforts and fundraising activities that support the preservation of natural habitats.

The park is accessible daily with free parking and welcomes visitors of all abilities. Wear appropriate clothing for changing weather since you will encounter open areas and potentially wet sections along the paths.

The park features color-coded walking routes that guide visitors along paths of different difficulty levels. An outdoor fitness trail with free exercise equipment is also available for those who want to combine a walk with physical activity.
