Batsford Arboretum, Arboretum in Cotswolds, England.
Batsford Arboretum is a tree garden in the Cotswolds containing more than 1500 species from around the world, linked by winding paths and walkways. The 56-acre grounds feature diverse botanical collections spread across rolling terrain.
Lord Dulverton established this garden in the late 19th century, incorporating plant specimens collected during his extensive international travels. His personal passion for botanical diversity shaped the foundation of this collection.
The garden incorporates Asian design through a Japanese section featuring traditional stone elements and carefully chosen oriental plant species. These touches create spaces of reflection as you walk through the grounds.
The grounds include a garden shop, cafe, and picnic areas, with accessible paths through most sections. Planning for changing weather and wearing comfortable shoes is wise, as the routes traverse hilly terrain.
Waterfalls cascade into a lake at the lower section, while a 600-meter rock garden borders a stream that flows through. This geological feature showcases Victorian craftsmanship in landscape design.
