Bosworth Hall

Bosworth Hall is a substantial stone mansion with symmetrical facades, large windows, and ornamental details from the late 17th century. The building now contains hotel rooms and function spaces while keeping its original architectural character intact.

The house was built in the late 17th century and served as the Dixie family residence for three centuries. The family sold the property in the 1880s due to financial difficulties.

The hall witnessed the early career of Samuel Johnson, who worked as an usher at the local school under Sir Wolstan Dixie in 1732.

The property operates as a hotel and can be visited for overnight stays and events. Keep in mind it is an active hotel, so some areas may be restricted depending on bookings and functions.

Lady Florence Dixie, a long-time resident, wrote extensively about her travels through Patagonia and advocated for women's rights. Her writings provide rare firsthand accounts from a female perspective in the 19th century.
