Bouldnor Battery, Military coastal battery in Shalfleet, Isle of Wight, Great Britain
The concrete structure contains two gun emplacements, ammunition storage areas, troop shelters, and a defensive pillbox overlooking the western entrance to the Solent.
Built between 1937 and 1938, the battery operated through World War II with two 6-inch Mark VII guns and remained active until final decommission in 1956.
The military installation represents the technological advancement of British coastal defense systems during the mid-twentieth century conflict period.
