Bredfield House, Grade II listed building in Bredfield, Suffolk.
The timber-framed structure features a whitewashed exterior, plain tile roof, and includes an open hall with two bays and multiple extensions.
The construction of Bredfield House dates back to the 15th century, with subsequent additions made during the 16th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
The drawing room contains chamfered ceiling beams and a moulded chimney bressumer from 1500, displaying fragments of wall paintings with chevron patterns.
The property received its Grade II listing designation on March 16, 1966, under Historic England's preservation initiative for buildings of architectural interest.
Edward FitzGerald, translator of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, was born in this house and later wrote a poem titled 'Bredfield Hall' about it.
