The school was founded in 1923 but occupies buildings with origins tracing back to the Norman Conquest, including a structure from John O'Gaunt dating to 1400. This connection to different periods makes the place a testimony to English architectural and educational history.
The Great Hall displays an ornate high roof and stone fireplace decorated with the Guest family's coats of arms from the 1846 renovation. This room reflects the long history of the place and is still used for school events today.
