Crimonmogate

Crimonmogate House is a Greek Revival mansion situated on a substantial estate in Aberdeenshire, northeast Scotland. The property encompasses extensive woodland, productive farmland, and grounds bordered by mature beech hedges.

The estate originated in the 14th century under the ownership of the Earls of Erroll. In the early 1800s, merchant Patrick Milne commissioned architect Archibald Simpson to design the current mansion in Greek Revival style.

The mansion reflects how wealthy merchants transformed Scottish estates into statements of status through refined architecture. Walking around the grounds reveals an estate designed to impress, with carefully arranged buildings and landscaping that spoke to the owner's prosperity.

The property operates as a private events venue available for exclusive bookings, situated roughly two miles from the village of Crimond. The entire grounds must be reserved for private use rather than individual visits.

Nearby archaeological remains reveal evidence of prehistoric settlement, including the Stone Circle of Lonmay situated within walking distance of the house. These ancient traces show how this landscape has held significance for thousands of years.
