Daimler Car Hire Garage, Art Deco garage in Bloomsbury, England
The four-story structure features horizontal bands of green-painted Crittall metal-framed windows and white rendered facade with decorative faience tile surrounds at entrances.
Built in 1931 by architects Wallis Gilbert and Partners, the garage served as headquarters for the Daimler Hire Car Company until its transformation into a taxi depot.
The building represents the evolution of commercial architecture during the 1930s, combining functional design with Art Deco elements in central London.
Located near Russell Square Underground station on Herbrand Street, the building now houses McCann Erikson advertising agency after a £7 million renovation.
The structure incorporates a central spiral ramp leading to a basement car park, with a continuous vertical window illuminating the main stairwell.
