Coldfall Wood

Coldfall Wood is an ancient forest spanning around 14 hectares, dominated by oak and hornbeam trees. These trees create varying levels of light throughout the site, with some areas bright and open while others remain dense and shaded.

This woodland has stood since ancient times, making it one of Britain's original forest areas. Scientists discovered fossils and rock samples during the 1800s that provided evidence of glaciation having reached southern England in prehistoric times.
