Dragon Hall, Medieval trading hall in Norwich, England
Dragon Hall stands on King Street with a first-floor great hall constructed from English oak timber featuring intricate dragon carvings throughout its structure.
Robert Toppes, a merchant from Norwich, established this commercial complex in 1427, building it above a 14th-century domestic structure near the River Wensum.
The National Centre for Writing maintains this Grade I listed building as a literature hub, offering programs, events, and courses for writers and storytellers.
Visitors can access Dragon Hall from Sunday through Wednesday between 10 AM and 3 PM, with guided tours available twice monthly through Heritage Volunteers.
The building contains approximately 1000 English oak trees in its construction and features a timber crown-post roof with detailed medieval carvings.
