Day's Lock, Thames River lock and footbridge in Dorchester, England
The lock measures 47 meters in length and 6 meters in width, with a fall of 1.6 meters on the River Thames.
Built in 1789 by the Thames Navigation Commissioner, the site previously contained a flash lock during the 16th century.
The World Poohsticks Championships took place at Day's Lock footbridge annually from 1983 to support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The Thames Path crosses the river at Day's Lock, connecting to Little Wittenham village through a bridge system.
Day's Lock functions as the principal gauging station for measuring water flow in the River Thames.
