Elcot Park Hotel, Country house hotel in Kintbury, England
Elcot Park is an 18th-century country house that functions as a hotel with 55 bedrooms situated across 16 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds. The Grade II listed building combines period architecture with contemporary facilities to serve its guests.
The estate was acquired in 1817 by Anthony Bushby Bacon, who established innovative glasshouses for horticulture on the grounds. During the 19th century it was briefly held by Lady Elizabeth Shelley and her family, connecting the place to significant literary figures of that era.
Lady Elizabeth Shelley, mother of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, owned the estate from 1844 to 1846, during which time Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley visited.
Two on-site restaurants serve guests alongside an outdoor pool and indoor hydrotherapy pool with wellness facilities. The grounds also feature a sauna, steam room, fitness center, and treatment rooms offering various services.
Nine newly built two-bedroom maisonettes with high-specification kitchens are available on the estate for short-term rental arrangements. These separate residences offer visitors an alternative way to experience the property beyond standard hotel stays.
