Grays Court, York, Grade I listed building near York Minster, England

The medieval stone building features ornate architectural details, period windows, and traditional English gardens surrounded by ancient city walls.

Originally constructed in 1080 as the residence for York Minster treasurers, the structure represents one of England's oldest continuously inhabited houses.

The Sterne Room, constructed in the mid-18th century, displays traditional Georgian design elements and houses a marble plaque commemorating Augusta of Wales.

The property now functions as a hotel with multiple guest rooms, event spaces, and gardens, situated within walking distance of York's central attractions.

Edwin Gray donated a 300-meter section of York's city walls adjacent to the property to the municipality in 1878.
