Built in 1798 as a villa by Sir Henry Tempest, the estate transformed into housing developments in 1923 after London Garden Suburbs Limited purchased the land.
The estate grounds became a center for working women in London during the 1920s when Lady Workers' Homes Limited established residential blocks.
The estate maintains private roads with controlled access, while residents benefit from proximity to schools, parks, and local shops in Highgate.
The mansion blocks stand on elevated terrain, featuring distinctive timber details and balconies visible across north London's landscape.
