Hamerton Zoo Park, Wildlife park in Hamerton, England.
Hamerton Zoo Park is a zoo in Hamerton, Cambridgeshire, England, housing mammals, birds, and reptiles across a series of separate enclosures. Each enclosure is designed to resemble the animal's natural setting, giving them room to move around freely.
The land was originally used for farming and was turned into a zoo in 1990, when the local Member of Parliament officially opened it. Since then, the park has gradually grown its animal collection and expanded its facilities.
The zoo has a relaxed, family-friendly feel where visitors can get close to the animals without large crowds getting in the way. School groups visit regularly to watch animals behave in settings that resemble their natural surroundings.
The park is open every day and has a coffee shop, a gift shop, a play area for children, and spots to sit and eat outside. As the whole site is explored on foot, wearing comfortable shoes makes the visit much easier.
The park is home to White-bearded Civets from Sumatra, a species not found in any other zoo in the United Kingdom. These animals are rarely kept in captivity, making this one of the very few places in Europe where visitors can see them.
