Highgate House, Country house hotel and conference center in Creaton, England
Highgate House is a country house hotel and conference venue in the village of Creaton, in the East Midlands of England. The property has close to 100 guest rooms, several dining spaces, an indoor swimming pool, and meeting rooms set within landscaped grounds.
The building was constructed in 1663 as a coaching inn and Royal Mail posting station, serving travelers on the road between Northampton and Leicester. When the railways took over long-distance travel in the 1830s, the site lost its original role and gradually became a country estate.
The Terrace Restaurant serves traditional English food in a dining room that reflects the old character of the building. Many guests come not only for meetings but also for weekend stays in the countryside.
The property is close to the M1 and M6 motorways and the A14 road, making it easy to reach by car. On arrival, guests have access to free parking, WiFi, and bicycles for getting around the grounds.
Although the property is now known as a modern conference hotel, original stone details from the 17th century are still visible on the exterior. This contrast between old construction and modern facilities runs throughout the interior of the building.
