The church features stone rubble construction with sandstone ashlar dressings, incorporating a nave, aisles, porches, chancel, vestry, and west tower.
The present structure, dating from the 13th century, stands upon foundations of an 8th-century Saxon church, with additions made during the 14th and 15th centuries.
The interior contains early 14th-century arcs, carved elements from 1527, and medieval wall paintings discovered during restoration work in 1927.
Located on Low Lane in Wensley, the church remains open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, offering access via a wheelchair ramp and uneven flagged pathway.
The church houses a 15th-century reliquary that reportedly contained relics of St Agatha, along with fine Flemish brasses and the historical Scrope family pew.
