Holy Trinity Church, Wensley

Holy Trinity Church in Wensley is a stone church building with windows and structural elements from several centuries. It contains a nave with aisles, porches, a chancel, a vestry, and a west tower.

The foundation of this building was laid in the 13th century, but it replaced an even older church from around 800. Over the following 200 years, major parts were added and changed.

The interior displays features from different periods, including carved details from the early 14th century and medieval wall paintings uncovered during restoration work. These layers show how many generations shaped and changed this space.

The church is located on Low Lane and can be visited throughout the week. Access is available via a ramp, but the pathway is uneven and requires careful footing.

Inside the church sits a 15th-century container that once held remains of a saint. Also present are fine Flemish metal plaques marking graves and a historic family pew from medieval times.
